Internship Goals

This summer, I would like to learn as much as I possibly can about air quality; since the internship is only five weeks long, I have a few goals in mind that I would like to accomplish:

The first goal I have is that I would like to learn the necessary research skills for working in a lab, and discover what it is like to work in a lab for an extended period of time--I've only worked in labs briefly, and I'm excited to actually do meaningful work.

The second goal is that I would like to find a new facet of science that I'm interested in--even if I discover that I am not that passionate about air quality, I want to find at least one new thing that fascinates me. This internship will expose me to different overlapping areas of science and I am sure that something new will pop up that I will want to explore more!

The third and final goal is that I would like to make valuable and lasting connections with the people working in the lab. I hope that after seeing each other every day and working in close proximity, I'll get to know the people around me better and form new relationships with new people.
